Fundraising tips
Set up a fundraising page at www.splashforcash.com.au- Set yourself a fundraising target to aim for.
- Kick-start the fundraising by making the first donation.
- Remember all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
The best way to raise money is to tell everyone you know that you are swimming and raising funds for RIDBC
Try some of the following tips:
- E-mail your fundraising page link to all your friends, family and colleagues. Include a personalised message to inspire them to donate.
Promote your challenge on every e-mail you send – add a link to your fundraising page in your e-mail signature.- Use your social networks to make your fundraising page famous!
- Add Splash for Cash as an event on your Facebook page – invite all your friends to sponsor or join you.
- Tweet your friends and followers with your fundraising page link (URL).
- Keep your friends, family and colleagues updated on your training and fundraising progress with updates on Facebook and Twitter. Let them know you need help achieving your fundraising target.
The key to fundraising is to ask!
Apart from friends and family try asking for donations from:
- Local businesses
- Neighbours
- Colleagues
- Teachers
- Sporting team-mates
- Social Clubs
- School friends
- Local RSL or Club
- Day Care
- Hairdresser
- Gym
Ask your employer to support your fundraising efforts by matching the funds you raise.
Remember to thank your sponsors and let them know that all funds raised will go towards helping deaf children and blind children in their local community.
